Dear Amelia,
Ice skating was one of my favorite things too but we did it on ponds and lakes. We carried our skates laces tied together over our shoulders. We'd walk to the pond and often there would be a fire or a small warm shack to sit in so you could put your skates on and off there and try to keep our feet warmer.
Sometimes my dad (your great, great granddad, would go with us and we would form a line with dad first. He would open his coat to the wind like a sail and after we picked up speed, he'd make a sharp turn on the ice and the last person would swing way out and sometimes lose his grip on the person in front of him. We called this "the Whip". It was great fun :)
When your Grandma Celeste was young I used to go skating with her, Aunt Dulcie and Uncles David and John at Paisley's pond.
Once when David's family visited we all went to a rink in Jamestown and
Emmanuel, Natasha and Vanessa were surprised that Grandpa and I could
skate.

Ice skating lessons sound like fun. Looks like you have lots of great stuff going on. That's great that Amelia liked the concert. Has she started playing instruments yet? (if so, pictures would be nice as well as video???) Do you do school work downstairs now?
