Amelia Cooks at Camp
October 5, 2009
Amelia and I spent a week in September cooking for rental groups at Camp…

Amelia helped our friend Heather get the pudding ready…her job was to sprinkle chocolate chips on top of each person’s cup of pudding. Amelia’s definition of “sprinkle” was to put 20-30 chocolate chips on each one…but hey, everyone loves chocolate, right?

That maybe wasn’t the best shot of Heather, but I love how Amelia is hanging on her every word!

More chocolate chips, but in cookie form this time…

Here Amelia is making a breakfast casserole for 75 people, pretty much by herself.

Some instruction from our friend Ginger…

The leaves were just starting to turn, and you could see the difference each morning. I wish we could go back in a week or two to see the valley at its peak!

We often have large falling branches at home…

It looks like the branches that fall off your older tree are a lot taller than the new one you planted this spring.
What a lovely opportunity for Amelia to work at camp with those who look for opportunities for her to really contribute.
It really was a great week. She was thrilled to be included and be given things to do. She was also a great table-setter! I don’t think it’s legal for her to be in the kitchen during Camp sessions though–just for rentals.
Those pics of Amelia cooking are great – and will be fun to look at when she is much older and working at camp too!
